Half-Life 2 (Direct X)


This was one of the most anticipated games in PC history, and even with the troubles it has had with Steam, HL2 drives-on as a great game and great benchmark for PC systems.  Below are the default settings we used for our testing today.  Actually, we enabled Reflect All instead of Reflect World and AA and AF were enabled where indicated.

ATI’s dominance in the HL2 engine is shown here as the XT XF setup is able to beat out even the 512s in SLI mode from NVIDIA.  Due to the CPU limitedness of this level, the XTs only saw a 28% performance gain, though that is nothing to sneeze at.

Again we see the XLs being dominated by the comparable NVIDIA configurations, even with the 22% performance gain CrossFire sees.
