In the first three ScienceMark tests, even though the Pentium 955 processor again makes a good performance jump over the previous Intel 840 XE chip, it is still much farther behind the AMD X2 lineup than we would like to see.  The savior for Intel though here is the BLAS Bench results that test single and double precision floating point ops.  In these results, especially in the double precision, the four threads of the Intel XE processors make for a much higher Peak MFLOPS result, even though the FLOPS per cycle is lower.
