Guild Wars

Guild Wars (Direct X)

Guild Wars is another quality MMORPG from the makers of City of Heroes, only this one is free!  Well, you have to buy the game, but still…  I have several um, er…friends that are playing this now and it is quite good.  Here are the graphics settings we used:

ATI Radeon X1900 XTX and CrossFire Review - R580 Arrives - Graphics Cards 142

We tested in the opening town where new characters start.

ATI has improved their driver support in the beta drivers we used and as such is pretty much on par with NVIDIA now in Guild Wars.  Since the game is very heavily CPU bound, there isn’t much differentiatiion between the competitors.

Looking away from the poor performance of the X1800 XT CrossFire, the X1900 XTs and 7800 GTX 512s are neck and neck.
