HD Gaming: Half-Life 2 – Canals09
With more and more users looking at higher resolution monitors like the new Dell 30″ LCD that can handle 2560×1600, testing resolutions over 1600×1200 is becoming increasingly important. In our “HD Gaming” tests we look at some of our benchmarks we ran at 16×12 at 2048×1536 — the current highest resolution that any monitor in our lab can handle!
First up, we have the GPU-bound Canals09 map from Half-Life 2.
In the single card test, there is no denying the HUGE lead we see with the X1900 XTX over the 7800 GTX 512. Wins of 33% aren’t supposed to happen like that anymore, are they? However, our multiple GPU test shows that the X1900 only has a small lead over a pair of 7800 GTX 512s.
