Battlefield 2 (Direct X)
Battlefield 2 is one of the first games to come along in quite a while that turned out to really push the current and even following generation gaming hardware. Having the privelege of being the first game that might need 2 GB of memory is either a positive or negative, depending on your viewpoint. Here are our IQ settings used:
Our map was the Strike At Karkand that turns out to be one of the most demanding in the retail package in terms of land layout, smoke and other shader effects.
The 100 FPS frame lock on the BF2 engine is keeping the scores closer than they would be otherwise, as is evident by the strong lead the ATI X1900 XTX has over the 7800 GTX 512 in terms of minimum FPS. As it stand now though, both cards perform very well at these settings.
Again, the average FPS on the X1900 XTs vs the 7800 GTX 512s show a close battle, but with an 18 frame advantage on the minimum FPS, the X1900 XTs in CrossFire mode are giving us a better gaming experience.
