Guild Wars (Direct X)

Guild Wars is another quality MMORPG from the makers of City of Heroes, only this one is free!  Well, you have to buy the game, but still…  I have several um, er…friends that are playing this now and it is quite good.  Here are the graphics settings we used:

This game is more CPU limited than the other titles we are testing here, though ATI’s drivers are still exhibiting problems with the performance in Guild Wars.  The X1600 XT is more than 200% slower than the 6800 GS with 4xAA enabled — and that performance deficit shouldn’t be quite that wide.  The SLI performance boost is about 28% or so, which is low for SLI in general on newer titles, but better than improvements on the higher powered 7800 series.
