Video Encoding and Photo Editing
DivX 6.1 with XMPEG 5.03
This test uses the latest DivX codec that supports multi-threaded encoding on the XMPEG application for easy encoding setup. Here we had a 2 GB video that we asked XMPEG to convert the first 10,000 frames to DivX.
Windows Media Encoder 9
This custom test uses the standard Windows Media Encoder to convert a 720p HD video file to a 2Mb CBR DVD-quality video in two passes.
Windows Media Encoder 9 Take Two
This version of the test is part of the World Bench suite of tests and encodes a smaller video.
VideoWave Movie Creator 1.5
This World Bench test simulates creating a video from home movies.
Adobe Premiere 6.5
A more professional level benchmark, here World Bench is simulating more content creation in video and audio format.
Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1
This incredibly popular image editing software is used in World Bench to simulate common image manipulation techniques.
All of our video editing results are within a few seconds of each other and as such we can conclude that either platform would be a great addition or upgrade to a user that wants to do some pro-sumer level content creation.
