It finally happened and I figured it was going to be sooner rather than later. There is now a third-party patch available that allows everyone to run SLI regardless of chipset! The story started with a leaked ULi patch that enabled SLI, then users created their own universal patch. All you need is a motherboard capable of running two PCI-Express graphics cards (i.e. Intel 955X, 975X, XPress 200, XPress 3200, etc.).
If anything, this homebrew software will help increase the sales of NVIDIA cards; so I hope NVIDIA doesn’t come down too hard on this patch. If you try this patch, share your success (or failure) in our Video Card forum!
