3DMark06
The new Futuremark 3DMark06 benchmark was released just a few months ago and has already become a popular test for GPU benchmarks and CPUs as well. You can see my full overview of the new benchmark, what it has to offer over the 2005 version and some other initial scores from my previous article.
The BFG 7900 GT OC card is performing just faster than the X1800 XT card from ATI, even though it has half the on-board system memory. The SLI system sees a 63% performance advantage.
The 24 pixel pipes on the 7900 GT simply demolish the 16 pipes on the X1800 XT GPU, as our synthetic pixel shader test shows. The ATI card does have a small advantage on the vertex processing however.
