Internal Examination Including Mods
As you can imagine, the interior required very few mods and outside of nylon sleeving and the wiring no other modifications were performed.
Earlier I mentioned that it really wasn’t necessary to remove the right side panel, the reason for this is that the drive bays are constructed in such a way that once you’ve lined up the drive holes with the locking slide bar all you do is slide it towards the front then press down the locking button and you’ve installed your 5.25′ and 3.5′ drives, without touching anything on the right side.
The photo above, gives you a clearer look at the slide mechanism as well as the locking button. I was surprised at how firmly the locking system works, especially when you realize that the one slide bar is truly enough to hold your devices securely.
The photo above shows the use of the supplied side rails that insert into the screw holes of the hard drive, you then just push it in and the locking tabs keep the drive secure.
If we didn’t mention it before, we’ll mention it now, the interior of the case in entirely screw-less.
The only screws used in the entire case are the four to hold the power supply in position, screws that hold the fans in place and two thumbscrews for the left side panel and two regular screws for the right panel.
In the photo below you can see the nylon meshed wiring for the top fan, the rear exhaust fan and the wiring for the top located outside access ports.
The final photo in this section is a closer look at the seven expansion card slots and the screwless mechanism that holds your cards securely in place.
Just lift up the purple latch and open it just like a door, then remove the slot covers you are going to use. Be sure to close the locking mechanism once you’ve installed your system and expansion cards.
