ScienceMark 2.0 Memory
The ScienceMark 2.0 suite has its own memory benchmark that reports back cache memory speeds and system memory speeds. We are only going to look at system memory here.
Everest Ultimate Edition 2006
Everest, formerly known to the world as AIDA32, has gone commercial and taken their memory benchmark with them. There tests are similar to SiSoft’s and ScienceMark’s in that they stress the system via synthetic means to find the highest possible speeds. Here we have done both Read and Write speed tests as well as the copy memory test.
The on-chip memory controller on the X2 4800+ processor just puts the 945 chipset’s memory controller to shame in our synthetic memory tests. While these results aren’t indicative of anything substantial, they may give us some insight into where the Intel Core Duo technology in this form has performance issues.
