SiSoft Sandra 2005.SR3
We ran the standard SiSoft Sandra synthetic processor test.
ScienceMark 2.0 BLAS Test
This test from the ScienceMark 2.0 suite does matrix multiplies very quickly in order to find the top MFLOPS (millions of floating point operations per second). SGEMM runs them in single precision and DGEMM runs them in double precision.
Both the X6800 and the E6700 stomp on the competition in these test results, and its not even really close. These benchmarks are highly synthetic, so real-world results could be a different story, but from the start, Core 2 Duo looks impressive.
