Intel today announced the launch of their Core 2 Duo processors. While these CPUs should be familiar to you by now (read our coverage here), what wasn’t known was the timeframe of these new CPUs. According to reports today, the desktop Core 2 Duo (Conroe) will be available early August, and the laptop model in late August.
While this news is buzzing around the net like crazy, we’re the only site in the world who has published testing results of the new mobile Core 2 Duo processors (known as “Merom”). Read our review of the new Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 Mobile CPU here.
“Intel has been losing market share in computer processors to rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD.N: Quote, Profile, Research), but analysts say Intel will likely regain the technology crown with the new chips. The company is counting on the all-new designs to halt several quarters of falling sales and profits.”
