X1900 XT 256MB, X1650 Pro and X1300 XT
The Missing Cards
Even though we are only covering the X1950 XTX and CrossFire Edition cards here today, ATI is also announcing several other cards that might interest our readership.
The first is the X1900 XT 256MB card – the same X1900 XT we have come to know but with half of the memory and a lower price at $279. We should also be seeing the new X1650 Pro card and the X1300 XT. We didn’t get a lot of details on these other cards yet, and in fact we didn’t even get samples as of writing this, but I’ll be sure to let you all know as soon as we get them.
ATI’s New Lineup
Of course, now that the X1950 XTX is on the playfield (with major shipments starting on September 14th, ATI claims), prices, they are a-movin’!
This table came from the X1950 XTX NDA slide presentation and shows a landscape of ATI’s parts from $49 all the way up to the $449 price tag on the X1950 XTX. If prices stay as they are shown here, for a single card configuration, the X1950 XTX is a hell of a deal. NVIDIA is either going to have to lower the prices on the 7900 GTX and 7950 GX2 cards or suffer in the price/performance comparisons.
