Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 (Direct X)

Call of Duty was the best selling FPS of 2003 and Call of Duty 2 looks to continue that tradition with a great game style and supurb graphics.  Below are the graphical settings we used in our testing.

The first mission was used in its entirety as the benchmark.

The single GPU X1950 XTX card is able to nearly beat the 7950 GX2 card that sports dual 7900 GT GPUs.  Though not quite a win for ATI here, the performance numbers are impressive and very close.  Looking at the CrossFire setup, Call of Duty 2 is another game that scales VERY well by nearly doubling both the minimum and average frame rate.

Comparing the multi-GPU antialiasing performance numbers you can see see that the Quad SLI and X1950 CrossFire configurations are very close in performance.  However, looking at the standard IQ 4x/8x CrossFire setup, we see nearly a 100% decrease in frame rates.  Is the improvement in image quality worth those kind of performance hits?  In my opinion, not really.
