ECS KA3-MVP BIOS Features
The BIOS in the ECS KA3-MVP is a mixed bag in my view; there are some aspects that it excels in and others that are somehow missing…
Most of the normal memory settings are seen here including the memory ratio timer and the classic memory timings. Notice though that both the CAS latency and Command Rate timings are not seen anywhere…? Update: ECS provided me with a new BIOS that does add both of these missing timings into the mix.
The options for adjusting PCIe frequency and width are located here in the BIOS, though the naming scheme is a bit cryptic.
These are some interesting BIOS settings that are supposed to allow you to limit the amount of power that the chipset and GPU can pull through the motherboards connections.
Temperature and fan speed controls are fairly straight forward in this BIOS and seemed to work as advertised in our testing.
The rest of these options get into the overclocking potential on the ECS KA3 MVP motherboard; it has multiplier adjustments, clock speed adjustments up to 500 MHz, and voltages for the CPU, memory and chipset are included as well. None of these power settings though are significant over other motherboards on the market and fairly low-key.
