3DMark06
The new Futuremark 3DMark06 benchmark was released just a few months ago and has already become a popular test for GPU benchmarks and CPUs as well. You can see my full overview of the new benchmark, what it has to offer over the 2005 version and some other initial scores from my previous article.

The X1900 XT 256MB gets the better overall 3DMark06 score, but just barely. What is more interesting is the X1900 XT loses the pixel shader test (even though it has 48 pixel pipes) but wins in the Shader Model 3.0 test (that it can’t complete) that are also pixel pipe intensive. The SLI configuration is showing theoretical performance differences over a single 7950 GT card upwards of 98%!
