I was at a party this past weekend where I bumped into an old friend of mine who works at RIM. After some small talk, the conversation went something like:

Me: “So have you used the new Pearl?”

RIM Friend: “You want to see it?”

Me: “SURE!!”

When it comes to cool new gadgets and toys, I have no shame in revealing my uber geek. 😉

This new consumer-oriented Blackberry has an integrated camera, plays MP3s, and does videos. While my friend gave me a quick demo he showed off the Pixar Cars trailer running on the small screen. This new phone from RIM is looking to be a real gem (get it? Pearl / gem? :P) and I have a feeling geeks and wired youth are going to flock to this thing.

Any bets on this being the hot new toy for College students this year?
