Memory Performance

Like the CPU tests on the previous page, these tests evaluate the performance of the memory modules that the vendor chose to use in their product. The Aurora m9700 that we are testing comes with a 2GB of DDR RAM on two SODIMMs manufactured by PDP which uses Samsung modules clocked at 200 MHz and a 3-4-4-8 timing.

The m9700 comes up behind the Intel competitors primarily because the m9700 is using DDR RAM which always comes a bit slower compared to the DDR2 SODIMMs used in Intel Core Duo laptops. Bean counters will find these numbers significant, but for gaming purposes, DDR2 and DDR RAM makes little difference in the big picture (quantity of RAM makes a bigger difference).
