The Asus-Lamborghini VX1 is a bold laptop in terms of style and price. Branded laptops are nothing new, but this one is special. How special? We dissect this laptop to find out!
It seems with the increasing popularity of portable computers, it’s inevitable that manufacturers begin paying closer attention to branding and appearances to attract a broader audience. The market has proven that customers are willing to pay a little extra money if it meant a product that’s a bit better designed, looks unique, or has a special feature. Asus has a lot of practice in this area with their Premium and Deluxe motherboards which feature a lot of extra features and unique bits that really make them stand out from the rest.
Today we’re looking at such a laptop: the Asus-Lamborghini VX1 notebook. The laptop boasts Lamborghini inspired styling and branding which makes it look impressive, but is it all surface and no substance? I’ve given branded laptops a hard time in the past so I’m very eager to dig into this laptop.
Specification
The VX1 we are reviewing today is the 5E009P revision which has a Core 2 Duo T7400 (2.166 GHz) CPU and a generous 2GB of RAM. There is a standard 5400 RPM UDMA 5 (ATA-100) hard drive and a integrated GeForce Go 7400 video card. I won’t spoil the surprise, but the ATA-100 hard drive has some tricks up its sleeve.
