A Closer Look (Cont’d)

The SilverStone Zeus 850W power supply has a full assortment of cables and connectors. The main wiring harnesses measure approximately 22′ long to the first connector and all of the cables are covered with black plastic mesh sleeving.

While the +12V ATX 4-pin adapter will work fine for the majority of users, I would prefer to see a second 8-pin EPS connector that could be split into two 4-pinners for even greater flexibility and compatibility.

 

Here are a few pictures showing the layout and components inside the Zeus 850W power supply.  The single 80mm fan in located at the front of the power supply and blows air down between the two main circuit boards.

Removing the bottom cover doesn’t get us very far into this PSU.

Removing the two ends and top cover reveals the cooling fan, AC input module, and the inner workings.
