SiSoft Sandra 2005.SR3
We ran the standard SiSoft Sandra synthetic memory test.
ScienceMark 2.0 Memory
The ScienceMark 2.0 suite has its own memory benchmark that reports back cache memory speeds and system memory speeds. We are only going to look at system memory here.
Everest Ultimate Edition 2006
Everest, formerly known to the world as AIDA32, has gone commercial and taken their memory benchmark with them. There tests are similar to SiSoft’s and ScienceMark’s in that they stress the system via synthetic means to find the highest possible speeds. Here we have done both Read and Write speed tests as well as the copy memory test.
The newer P965 Abit chipset lagged behind slightly here, even though the P965 features an improved memory controller. This is more likely the result of the immature BIOS, compared to the Asus board that has been out for some time and hence has a more optimized BIOS. Lets look how this translates into real world performance.
