The top of the case is fitted with an oval shaped, plastic insert that contains the concealed I/O ports, an optional mounting location for the included 92mm blow-hole fan, and a large mesh covered opening to allow warm case air to escape.

A circular cover pops-up to expose the I/O panel, which includes a IEEE-1394 Firewire port, two USB 2.0 ports, and a Headphone and Mic jack.  I’m not a big fan of top mounted I/O panels but for those users who set their PC on the floor this may be ideal.  The attached cables are an appropriate length for this case and the User’s Manual gives detailed pin outs of the various connectors.

The Kandalf LCS chassis is fitted with four plastic feet, which can be rotated out to the side to provide greater stability.

The stylish acrylic window appears identical to the original Kandalf design and provides a good look into the interior of the chassis.  The side panel door is secured in place by a pair of lockable latches and a set of thumb screws.  Once released, the side panel swings open and lifts off for easy removal.

Moving around to the rear of the case, you can see again just how big this case is. The Kandalf LCS chassis comes configured for ATX but can be converted to BTX with the optional BTX conversion kit.  The power supply mounts at the top and is turned 90º, which leaves room for a 92mm exhaust fan.  Directly below the 92mm fan are four knock-outs that can be used to route tubing and wires thru the back panel if desired.  Plastic bushings are provided with the case for this purpose.

The included rear 120mm exhaust fan features four blue LEDs and is held in place by a plastic bracket.  Below the exhaust fan are seven PCI expansion slots, which use the same tool-less style clips that Thermaltake uses in many of their other cases.
