Memory Performance
Like the CPU tests on the previous page, these tests evaluate the performance of the memory modules that the vendor chose to use in their product. The Aurora m9700 that we are testing comes with a 2GB of DDR RAM on two SODIMMs which use Samsung modules clocked at 200 MHz and a 3-4-4-8 timing.

- Asus VX1 – Intel T7400 Core 2 Duo, 2x1GB RAM (5-5-5-15) – 667 MHz
- Asus Z96J – Intel T7600 Core 2 Duo, 1x1GB RAM (5-5-5-15) – 667 MHz
- Dell M1710 – Intel T2600 Core Duo, 2x1024MB RAM (5-5-5-13) – 667MHz
- Alienware mALX – AMD Turion 64 ML-44, 2×1024 RAM (3-4-4-8) – 400 MHz

The Aurora mALX is marginally faster than the m9700 thanks to slightly faster RAM timings. Compared to the Intel systems, the DDR2 advantage beats the mALX in almost every case.
