In the following tests, we run the laptop through a series of number crunching exercises which tests primarily the CPU and memory of the system. These results will interest any user who does a lot of calculations as a daily activity like in spreadsheets, video editing, or image processing.

In my initial look at the Core 2 platform back in August 2006, I reported that the Core 2 had much improved floating point operation and these tests here show that. Since the G2 is running a T7200 2GHz CPU, it trails a little behind the T7600 2.6GHz in the Asus Z96J.
