Well, it’s another Sunday. It’s been darn busy at my house this last week. Seems we are working through some medical issues….gettin olde is like that. Ya gotta keep going back to the pits lap after lap…

OK, by now you know the drill:
Hi there. Let me take a minute to introduce myself. I’m Uncle Bob, a Mod here at PC Perspective. We will be running a series of articles within the forum that will be called Mod Interviews. I ask revealing, embarrassing, stupid, probing questions of Mods and hopefully you get to laugh with us at ourselves and in the process get to know some of us better. Beware, not all the Mods are as forthcoming as you may like, I do my best to uncover the truth, but haven’t always hit the mark!
Here ya go, number 18 in the series: Radiohead

1. I realize many of the mods here are in a witness protection program of some sort, but can you give us your real name?
Sure, no problem, Barry Meathrel

2. Why did you join PCPer/AMDMB?
Been so long I can’t remember how I stumbled on this place, most likely having trouble with a build

3. Which forums do you mod?
Soltek, Albatron.

4. Why do you keep coming back?
I figure in order to stay current in the world of PCs you gotta stay abreast of the rapidly changing hardware market. You gotta give it away to keep it as they say in the world of 12 step programs.

5. What was your first experience with a computer?
386 SX build.

6. Do you prefer to be called a “geek” or a “nerd”?
geek

7. What exactly do you do here at PC Perspective?
Read as much as I can, only way to stay current in the rapidly progressing world of the PC.

8. What do you like most about your ‘job’? I realize it’s actually a rudimentary form of slavery or servitude, but you are still here…can you explain this to our readers?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I enjoy helping people as much as I enjoy being helped.

9. OK, we all know this is coming…What do you like least about your job?
There’s the odd hot head around but for the most part most posters here are civil and try to get along. We have a very nice mix of posters here from all places and walks of life.

10. How long have you been active in PC Perspective?
About 6 years according to my sig, Time flies as we all know.

11. Where are most active here? What is it you suppose that draws you to that particular area?
I’ll wander about on occasion but for the most part spend the majority of my time in the motherboards section.

12. What interests do you have outside of PC Perspective. Don’t be shy, if you don’t have a life outside of here, many readers would like to know!
Cars and staying fit. Enjoy a good day in the garden as well.

13. OK, it’s hardware time! Let’s start with your most, or current favorite piece of hardware. Tell us about it.
Got so much stuff knocking around here its hard to narrow down. I’m kinda like the EverReady bunny. I just keep building and building and building.

14. Software? Hey, if you are a closet Linux user, now’s the time to come out. (If you are a closet Microsoft user, don’t be afraid, we can keep a secret!)
I’ve messed with different Linux distros over the years but must say I do like ubuntu. Run several dual boot boxes but still remain in the Windows world because I still enjoy doing a bit of gaming.

15. OK, let’s get real personal. Witness Protection Program be damned…Can you tell us something about yourself you’d like us to know?
Wife, married close to thirty years two daughters both grown and gone from the nest, no grandchildren. Love Labrador retrievers and have always had at least one sometimes two or three.

16. What can you tell us about your job? Hey, if you do something illegal, now’s a good enough time as any to make a clean start!
Health care worker. Nurse in operating room. Build computers to suit as a bit of a sideline most likely around 50 boxes per year for friends family clients.

17. Where do you live? (Be fearless, your secret is safe with us..)
London, Ontario Canada

18. What can you tell us about your family??
Wife, married close to thirty years two daughters both grown and gone from the nest, no grandchildren. Love Labrador retrievers and have always had at least one sometimes two or three.

19. Here’s a delicate one…How old are you and where did you grow up?
I’ll be 50 in April of this year, grew up right here in good old South Western Ontario.

20. Well, we are getting to the end of it, it’ll all be over soon, I promise. What you would like to say to our forum members, go ahead anything. Get it off your chest. We have all day here….
Nice to meet you all!!!! Whether you’re new to computers or a seasoned vet there’s something new to learn everyday.
