The new 8600 series has hit the internets, and there are plenty of different manufacturers to rank.  Start off with HotHardware’s review of the GeForce 8600 GTS and GT cards from Asus and XFX.  Even thought the GTS has a higher clock speed than even the 8800 series, the performance doesn’t come close, and is outpaced by the 1950 Pro and XTX.  They do offer full DX10 support, and are cheaper than the 2 Radeon cards, so don’t dismiss them out of hand.
