Half-Life 2: Episode 1 (DirectX 9)
The Half-Life 2 series is just too popular to stop and Valve’s move to episodic gaming with HL2: Episode 1 has so far paid off. Based largely around the technology demo of HL2: Lost Coast, Episode 1 brings new shaders and HDR to gamer’s taking the role of Gordon Freeman.
The best the Ultra card can muster over the GTX ere is 8% in the 2560×1600 resolution while AMD’s ATI X1950 XTX is left well behind for another game.
The 8800 Ultra looks like it
The 8800 Ultra looks like it might be a decent gain over the 8800 GTX in GPU limited games. Very expensive though, when you could just overclock a GTX.

Honestly I'd probably get the GTX and overclock, but I love the idea of the quiet cooler. I'll have to wait to see if they get cheaper on eBay or something in like 10 or 11 years…
