Performance measured with HDTach
HDTach is software commonly used to test the performance physical disk drives on a system. Since SD cards are often recognized as “removable storage” on Windows XP, I found that the Compaq V2410 actually mounts SD cards as another physical drive thus allowing us to run HDTach.
Please note that previous SiSoft Sandra tests on the previous page were done using the integrated reader on the Asus Z96J notebook.
Once again the integrated controller tests are a bit unusual with faster rated cards performing substantially slower than their specs. If you compare the results here to SiSoft Sandra tests on the previous page, you can see that the results are fairly consistent (even though they do look a bit odd) with the Sandisk Ultra II leading the pack and the PNY 60x followed closely behind.
