3DMark06 – Radeon HD 2600 XT

The new Futuremark 3DMark06 benchmark was released just a few months ago and has already become a popular test for GPU benchmarks and CPUs as well.  You can see my full overview of the new benchmark, what it has to offer over the 2005 version and some other initial scores from my previous article

From 3DMark06’s perspective, the true competition to the 2600 XT is the 8600 GT as the GTS card is well ahead.

And 3DMark06 sees the CrossFire mode on the 2600 XT as more efficient than SLI on the 8600 GT since the score difference are wider once adding in a second card.  The 8600 GTS SLI setup though is still clearly the performance winner.
