Antec

We take a look around the various show halls at the traditional power supply and cooling companies to see what’s new and what’s coming down the road. There are always interesting surprises here!

Introduction

This year’s Computex isn’t seeing much in the way of “officially” unveiled products in the form of big presentations and parties, but doesn’t mean that innovation has stopped for the enthusiast market.  Far from it — we saw quite a bit of new technology and design from the classic cooling and power manufacturers that got us itching to see a wave of new products hit the street this year.  Here is a summary of what we saw from some of these companies.

Antec

One of the more mainstream power and enclosure companies in the market, Antec had a couple of new enclosures on display.

The camo coloring is probably going to change, but this case is still in the mock up stage so we might see some slight changes, but overall the case felt very complete during my look at it.  The 120mm fan on the top keeps the case cool, but quiet will all of the air intakes have filters on them that are easily removed and cleaned.

This smaller case offers the flexibility enthusiasts need by allowing the secondary hard drive to be removed and replaced with a PCIe card retention mechanism.  They are definitely planning for those long graphics cards from AMD!

Antec is also ready to make a splash in the PSU market again with a new 1000 watt power supply.

Another interesting product was the new AV cooler they developed; it sits above any hot components (mostly the audio receiver) and moves the hot air out of the way so you can continue to stack items on the receiver without ill effects.
