3D Modeling
Turning our attention to 3D modeling applications, we use Spec ViewPerf to determine how the XPS M1710 would perform in these situations. With processors and GPUs becoming increasingly powerful, moving 3D design and modeling to a notebook is become more commonplace.
The Dell XPS M1710 doesn’t perform too well here in Spec ViewPerf. Though the CPU and GPU are the fastest you can buy on the market, the results here appear to suggest otherwise. The only explanation I have for this is that the Vista driver maturity isn’t quite there yet for this kind of application.
