Testing – Temperature Monitoring
To check the accuracy of the four supplied temperature probes and the ZM-MFC2 temperature display circuits, I used an Ametek/Jofra Temperature Calibrator (model 140SE).
All four temperature probes were inserted into the measurement well at the same time. The Ametek calibrator uses a combination of Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) and resistance heating to establish a precise reference temperature. While I couldn’t actually calibrate the ZM-MFC2, this instrument provides an easy way to check the accuracy.
The accuracy of all four channels was very good over a broad temperature range. In no case did any of the measured readings vary more than 1°C from the calibrator’s set point. Channel #1 consistently read about 1°C higher than the others but other than that all readings were very close to dead-on.
