For the memory testing we are using Everest 2006, SiSoft Sandra XI and Science Mark 2.0 to measure the memory performance of these two notebooks. I’m sorry to have to say this again but remember that we are comparing the Satellite with Vista Home Professional to the Dell with XP Professional.
As you can see from the Sandra testing, the Satellite did quite well in the memory read testing while lagging behind in both write and copy tests.
In these tests the Dell did considerably better that the Toshiba.
Both computers are very close using the Science Mark testing.
Although the Dell is a gaming/performance notebook, we see that the Toshiba holds it own in these tests thanks in large part to the performance benefits the Core 2 Duo architecture offers.
