Corsair and Super Talent: Is DDR3 Ready for the Enthusiast? - Memory 17

At the default speeds in our memory bandwidth test, you can see that the Corsair modules with their 1333 MHz frequency and slightly higher latencies is able to out perform the Super Talent modules running at 1066 MHz.  Moving up to the 1800 MHz frequency we saw a significant performance bump of 25% over the stock clock speeds!  At this speed DDR2 memory is going to be easily passed by the new DDR3 standard.

Latency results show a very similar result as the bandwidth tests – the Corsair modules are faster at their stock speed with a lower 85 ns random access time.  With the higher frequency the drop is nearly 33% and goes a long way to helping DDR3 look more impressive than DDR2.
