Features and Specifications
The Z-Machine incorporates premium construction, elegant styling, and some unique but very useable new features. It picks up where the Fatal1ty left off. Awesome!
Nine months ago we had the privilege to review Zalman’s first entry into the mid-tower enclosure market; the Fatal1ty FC-ZE1 Champ1on Series Gaming Case. Overall, the Fatal1ty proved to be a very interesting chassis with a good balance of clean lines, functionality, and aggressive styling. The materials, construction techniques, and build quality were excellent. The layout of the front panel was near perfect and the included LED cooling fans and easy to use, vibration isolating HDD cage were great. Unfortunately, the FC-ZE1 enclosure had a few first generation flaws we felt needed to be corrected before the Fatal1ty was ready for prime time.
Well I am happy to report that the new Z-Machine GT1000 high end computer enclosure picks up where the Fatal1ty left off. It fixes the major flaws, provides double the storage space, and is even more user friendly than before. The sleek Z-Machine GT1000 features the same heavy-duty, all aluminum construction that set the Fatal1ty apart from the rest of the crowd and is now available in two different color schemes: a Titanium-look (metallic gray) finish with blue LED fans or a Black finish with red LED fans.
Zalman has obviously been listening to their customers! The Z-Machine GT1000 is a premium case targeted towards the high-end enthusiast market. It comes with three LED cooling fans, three hinged side panel doors, a large side window, and audiophile style feet. Inside is a unique HDD cage that provides vibration isolation and easy installation for four hard drives along with two more vibration isolated mounts on the case floor. And new to the Z-Machine is one of the best tool-free ODD mounting systems I’ve ever seen.
