If you don’t have an extra $10 billion lying around, it is almost impossible to keep up with the newest versions of Photoshop.  There are 2 alternatives, find an employer you can convince to pay for it, or start learning how to use the GIMP.  OS Weekly has found a way to make that transition easier on the Photoshop addict, GIMPShop has had it’s interface tweaked to look a bit more like what you are used to.
