Main Cooling Unit – Components
ReservoirThe main body of the Reserator XT reservoir is a solid aluminum casting that measures approximately 4” x 6” x 4.5” (W x L x H) and sits on two pedestal legs. It features shallow fins on three sides to help dissipate heat and is fitted with a thick aluminum top plate that is secured with eight machine screws and sealed with an O-ring.
The reservoir incorporates a coolant temperature probe and two level sensors inside.
Pump
The pump Zalman chose for the Reserator XT appears to be the D-Tek dB-1. This is a popular low noise, 12 VDC, inline, mag-drive pump that features a compact design, ceramic bearings and has an RPM sensor built in.
The pump uses a pair of vibration isolation mounts to keep pump noise to a minimum.
Passive Radiators
The Reserator XT incorporates two passive cooling modules that use the top and side panels of the enclosure to help dissipate heat. Coolant flows thru the passive cooling modules as it enters and as it leaves the Reserator XT.
