Long our poster child for multi-threaded testing, our POV-Ray results aren’t showing us any more hope for this first wave of Phenom processors than the previous tests. The 9600 model isn’t much faster than the Core 2 Duo at 2.93 GHz while all four Intel quad-core processors are nearly twice as fast.
CineBench 10 is also not kind to the Phenom architecture – the single threaded results show how the clock speeds are affecting overall performance while the multi-threaded results indicate that Intel still has a significant lead with four cores.
