Call of Juarez – HD 3870

Call of Juarez (DirectX 10)

Call of Juarez is one of the most visually impressive games I have come across in some time.  Set in the Wild West time frame, this game puts a bit of a spin on the classic FPS style with some slowdown effects as well as playing characters that are essentially against one another.

The main DX10-based options here are the “enhanced quality” here at the very bottom as well as the shader model set at 4.0 above.

The Call of Juarez game does very well on the HD 3870 and this is the one time that AMD is clearly the performance leader in the price segment with a 72% average frame rate advantage at 19×12. The much more power hungry HD 2900 XT is also bested by the new HD 3870 as well.
