Installation – Part 1Preparation
The Zalman VF1000 LED and RHS88 combination is designed to work specifically with NVIDIA 8800 video cards. A detailed Installation Procedure is outlined in the User’s Manuals that includes clearly written instructions with excellent illustrations.

For this review I used an NVIDIA 8800 GTX video card. The stock NVIDIA cooler is a large, one-piece cooler that is attached with no less than 13 spring-loaded screws.
The first step is of course to remove the existing 8800 cooler and carefully clean the top surface of the GPU, RAM chips, VRMs, and HSI chip. I use lint free, pre-moistened isopropyl alcohol wipes for cleaning (available at most office supply stores). Note the protective guide surrounding the GPU must also be removed from the 8800 graphic card.
