Here are a few more pictures showing the VF1000 LED and RHS88 coolers installed and finally mounted into our test system.



Notice in the following picture that the lower mounting thumb screw has been replaced with a smaller retention nut (what Zalman calls a “fixing nut for SLI/CrossFire”), which is smaller than the standard thumb screw. This provides a little extra clearance should one or more of the larger thumb screws interfere or touch adjacent components (as was the case with one of the RAM sockets on our test bed motherboard).

The VF1000’s integrated cooling fan incorporates blue LEDs for added aesthetics. They aren’t overly bright so don’t expect the Zalman cooler to light up the inside of your case but it definitely adds a nice lighting affect if you have a side window.
