Final Thoughts and Conclusions
The Zalman VF1000 LED VGA cooler and RHS88 heatsink combination is an excellent cooling solution for NVIDIA 8800 series graphic cards.  It significantly lowers the key component temperatures, even when running the integrated 80mm fan at a relatively low speed for quiet operation.  The VF1000 LED/RHS88 is a compact, single slot cooling solution and is compatible with SLI configurations.  Both coolers come with everything needed for installation and the bundled Fan Mate 2 speed controller offers great flexibility for finding just the right balance between performance and noise.

Keep in mind that quite a bit of disassembly and reassembly is required to remove the stock 8800 cooler and install the VF1000 LED/RHS88 combo cooler.  Zalman has done a very good job of making the procedure as painless as possible but this operation shouldn’t be undertaken by the faint of heart, especially when working on a $500 video card.

The Zalman VF1000 LED and ZM-RHS88 are currently shipping and should be available from your favorite Zalman retailer.
•    VF1000 LED VGA Cooler    $49.99 USD
•    ZM-RHS88 Heatsink           $29.99 USD

With a combined price of $79.98 USD, the two cooler combo is a little pricey but remember that price includes an LED fan and Fan Mate 2 fan speed controller.
