World in Conflict

World in Conflict (DirectX 10)

An incredibly detailed RTS game, World in Conflict allows you to look at your troops from a bird’s eye view as well as zooming to street level to get hands on with the combat.  As you get closer, the game only looks better, as the scaling detail is incredible making this title an easy pick for DX10 benchmarking.

World in Conflict shows considerable trouble from the AMD side of these benchmarks.  Even though the HD 3870 X2 is by far the best performing configuration from AMD’s GPUs, the 8800 Ultra simply blows it away at all resolutions.  AMD definitely needs to fix their issues here as the 8800 Ultra is nearly 3 times faster than the HD 3870 X2 at 2560×1600.
