Over at Slashdot, you can see a nice little device that would have fit perfectly under the Christmas tree … unfortunately it’s not available quite yet. It’s the size of an iPod and capable of WVGA resolution (848×480), and capable of a 5′ picture from 5′ away. It can project on far more than just flat white surfaces, and should only cost between $200 – $300, so expect to see them showing up in places you don’t expect projectors to fit.

An early version showed up at last year’s CES, but some of the guts weren’t inside the small body. Now they are. It uses lasers to project the image.
