3DMark06
The Futuremark 3DMark06 benchmark was released many moons ago and has become a popular test for GPU benchmarks and CPUs as well.  You can see my full overview of the new benchmark, what it has to offer over the 2005 version and some other initial scores from my previous article.

I have thrown in the Futuremark 3DMark06 results for some interesting comparisons.  The overall scores shows the 9600 GT, HD 3870 and 8800 GT to be pretty close in performance leaving the HD 3850 and 8600 GTS well behind.  The fill rate results are interesting in that the 9600 GT is second only to the 8800 GT, with 112 shaders and correspondingly additional ROPs, and is well beyond what the HD 3870 can push.
