Synthetic CPU and Memory Tests
The latest edition of SiSoft Sandra continues on the tradition of testing the purely synthetic power of the processors to see how much performance software developers might be able to pull out of them.
Our first SiSoft scores show the new Phenom X4 9850 to be exactly where expected – in between the 2.3 GHz and 2.6 GHz Phenom in raw processor performance. In the Sandra multimedia test our scores are sorted by the ALU performance but if you look at the FPU results the new 9850 processor does much better than even the engineering sample Phenom 9900 and is faster than the both the X6800 and the E6750 CPUs from Intel.
