BIOS Features (cont’d)

The CPU configuration menu allows you to adjust the various features that the Core 2 line up offers for thermals and power consumption.

Voltage controls are really nice on the 790i Ultra SLI motherboard!

You can push your CPU voltage up to 2.0v here.

The front-side bus voltage can be bumped up to 1.45v over the default 1.1v.

DDR3 memory doesn’t use as much power as DDR2, so while the 2.0v setting that NVIDIA is offering here might seem low, it’s a good bump over DDR3 spec.

The north bridge voltage can be adjusted for some improved overclocking up to 1.55v.

South bridge voltages can be increased to 1.75v for whatever reason…

Very minute voltage control over the graphics lanes can be accessed here.

NVIDIA has again included an integrated memory testing application that you can use for stress testing your overclocked configuration without having to boot into Windows.

The 790i Ultra SLI BIOS allows for saving up to three different BIOS profiles for retrieving later.

This feature allows you to convert any of the six integrated SATA connection on the motherboard to eSATA connections if you have a dongle or chassis that supports it.

The hardware monitoring section includes temperatures of the processor and motherboard as well as the voltages and fan speeds you’d expect to see.

Finally, the dynamic fan control options allow users to adjust the temperatures and fan speed levels that are associated with them.
