Graphics Tests
Game Test 1: Jane Nash

The first of the two new game tests is titled “Jane Nash” and is a mix between Austin Powers and Charlie’s Angles – but twice as cheesy.  Game Test 1 takes place completely indoors and uses multiple dynamic lighting on top of complex character models and physical GPU simulation.

The graphics in the demo are pretty impressive though don’t stand out beyond the modern gaming titles like Crysis, Bioshock or Call of Duty 4.  There are even instances of cloth simulation (seen in one of the shots above) and the renderer uses a hierarchical pass render setup to create water reflections and refractions.

Game Test 2: New Calico

The second game test is titled “New Calico” and takes place in some area in space outside a rather warm looking planet.  This test is more about large amounts of rendered objects rather than a few highly detailed models.

This test is much more impressively visually and some of the ships will look familiar to any sci-fi fan; one of our screenshots has a very “X-Wing” like appearance.  Game test 2 also creates some ray tracing effects with parallax occlusion mapping and volumetric fog.
