Aqua Computer WaterblocksIn support of this review, Sharka Computers sent along two of Aqua Computer’s latest waterblocks; the new Cuplex XT Dual Impact CPU waterblock and the AquagraFX8800 GTX video card waterbklock.
Aqua Computer Cuplex XT Dual Impact CPU Waterblock
The Cuplex XT Dual Impact is Aqua Computer’s newest CPU waterblock and incorporates a two stage flow path. The cooler is divided into two sections that are sequentially cooled by the flowing water, hence the dual impact name.
The Cuplex XT Dual Impact waterblock is made up of three parts: a copper base plate, chrome-plated brass mid section, and blue-tinted acrylic top.
The pure copper base appears smooth and flat but the surface was lightly stained.
An array of square pins is machined into the top side of the copper base to provide a relatively large surface area for better heat transfer. Water is accelerated thru multiple nozzles in the mid plate, first onto one half of the copper pins and then back again thru a second set of nozzles onto the remaining pins.
